Development and introduction of a new generation of environmentally friendly, highly heat-resistant paints on the international market
Project summary
The target for the exploitation of the results of this development project is the use of modern, environmentally friendly paints for fireplaces, stoves, kitchen stoves, inserts, boilers, grills and their connecting units, vehicle exhaust systems, brake parts and engine units. With more than 20 years of experience on the market, we are well acquainted with the production and operating conditions of solid fuel appliances, the trends in international sales development, the typical paint requirements of actors on the market and the products of our major competitors in paint manufacturing. We have developed several product lines in our laboratories and manufacture them in our production units. Thanks to direct sales, we are in contact with more than 100 different manufacturers of fireplaces, stoves, boilers and cookers in Hungary and abroad. Our developments are partly based on our own ideas and partly on the orders of our partners. We have a wide range of product formulations to produce low, medium and high-temperature paints. Our product range includes high solvent containing, one- and two-component paints, as well as water-dilutable paints which must be burned in at high temperature ranges. The aim of this project is related to the trend and the desire to expand the range of solvent-free and water-dilutable products in the field of heat-resistant paints. Although our water-dilutable product with a heat resistance of up to 600 °C, has been present on the international market for many years - its annual export volume exceeds 30 tons - but its wider application is considerably limited by the fact that the curing of painted layer needs a heat treatment above 180 °C. Market feedback has convinced us that it is worthwhile to devote our development capacity to developing members of a new product family with low organic matter content, heat-resistant up to 600°C and air-drying at room temperature or moderate (60-80 °C) temperatures. The emergence of this innovative product may finally bring a breakthrough in the use of climate-neutral paints in this industry as well. Project no. 2024-1.1.1-KKV_FOKUSZ-2024-00010 has been implemented with the support provided by the Ministry of Culture and Innovation of Hungary from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund, financed under the 2024-1.1.1-KKV_FOKUSZ funding scheme.
