Our alumni student, Tibor Kapu was conducting research aboard the International Space Station

On the morning of June 25, Tibor Kapu was successfully launched into space aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. The Hungarian astronaut spent three weeks on the International Space Station, where he conducted numerous experiments and reported on his adventures in Hungarian on several live broadcasts. The astronaut returned to Earth on July 15.

We are extremely proud not only because 45 years after Bertalan Farkas' space flight, a Hungarian astronaut was once again flying above us in the endless Universe, but also because Tibor Kapu was a student of the BME and wrote his diploma at our department.

On behalf of all the staff of the Department of Polymer Engineering, we warmly welcome Tibor Kapu’s incredible achievement. Congratulations!
