Autoclave

The department's most advanced composite processing device has just been commissioned. The one meter diameter, 1.5 meter internal length autoclave is a bespoke unit from the well-known Spanish company Olmar S.A., made to order to our specifications: 250 Celsius maximum temperature and 10 bar internal pressure. Besides temperature and pressure, the vacuum level is independently controllable for two headers inside the autoclave. The exact temperature of the cured parts can be monitored with up to four thermocouples. This rare equipment is putting our department on the map of research institutions manufacturing and investigating top quality, high performance composite materials.
